Frequently Asked Questions

Getting started

5 questions
What is DataDoe?

DataDoe is the Amazon data layer — every metric clean, structured, and AI-ready. It turns fragmented data from Amazon and beyond into a single model your AI tools can understand and act on. Use the prebuilt analytics, ask questions in plain English, or build your own apps and automations through MCP and API.

Who is DataDoe for?

Amazon sellers, vendors, agencies, developers, and print-on-demand operators. Each role has a dedicated solution: Sellers, Vendors, Agencies, Developers, POD Sellers, and AI Builders.

How long does setup take?

Under 5 minutes. Authorize Amazon, data starts flowing, reports start populating. No onboarding call required.

Do I need to be technical to use DataDoe?

No. If you just want insights and recommendations — you're good on day one. If you want to build agents and automations — MCP and API are waiting. Most users start as operators and end up as builders.

What can DataDoe actually do?

Day one: you see your real profit, get AI recommendations, and set up alerts. Day two: you connect Claude, build an internal tool, automate your reports, or ask your data anything. It's the first Amazon platform where the ceiling is yours to set.

Features & capabilities

8 questions
What does DataDoe include out of the box?

A complete Amazon data layer built around three pillars: Foundation — orders, ads, fees, and performance combined into one clean structure. Access — connect to BI tools, spreadsheets, internal systems, or AI platforms. Control — build apps, automations, and tools using your own data instead of someone else's assumptions.

What does AI Analytics give me?

Instant answers from your data — real profit, ads performance, and full e-commerce metrics across your business, all without building dashboards yourself. Read more on AI Analytics.

What is the Data Layer?

The unified, AI-ready foundation underneath everything DataDoe does. Analysts use it through prebuilt analytics, builders use it through MCP and API, ops teams use it through scheduled exports. Read more on Data Layer.

Does DataDoe support Vendor Central (1P)?

Yes. Vendor Central data is fully supported alongside Seller Central — Ads, retail data, and 1P-specific metrics in one unified data layer. See Vendors.

Can agencies use DataDoe across multiple clients?

Yes. Unify client data, automate reports across accounts, connect to any AI tool, and build agency-specific tools on one Amazon data layer. See Agencies.

Does DataDoe support print-on-demand sellers?

Yes. Thanks to access to order and customer data (including PII), we can set up a number of automations for you, such as print files generator, or shipping labels automation — built specifically for Amazon POD sellers running custom products. See POD Sellers.

Where can I see new features and product updates?

The Changelog tracks every release with dates and details.

Where can I read deeper guides and tutorials?

The Blog covers Amazon SP-API, MCP, AI workflows, analytics, and tutorials for sellers, vendors, agencies, and developers.

AI & MCP

6 questions
What AI tools does DataDoe work with?

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, n8n, Make, Slack — anything with MCP or API. Connect DataDoe once and your entire stack gets access to your Amazon data.

Doesn't Amazon have their own MCP?

They do. So do a few others. We tested them all. Raw API access dressed up as MCP — multiple approvals, retries, incomplete data, hit limits. DataDoe MCP pulls instantly, returns structured results, and generates insights. Full comparison at DataDoe vs Amazon MCP.

Does DataDoe MCP cover both Selling Partner API and Ads API?

Yes — full coverage of both, in one MCP server. Amazon's official MCP only covers the Ads API.

Can I use multiple AI tools at once?

Yes. One token works across every supported tool. Many users connect Claude on desktop, ChatGPT on mobile, Cursor for engineering — all reading the same data.

Can I build my own tools and automations on DataDoe?

Yes. The AI Builders solution is built for that — agents, automations, and custom tools on top of your data through MCP and API. No backend, no complexity.

How is DataDoe different from a regular Amazon dashboard tool?

Most tools give you a dashboard and call it done. DataDoe is what you plug everything else into. Analytics and AI insights are already there when you start. MCP and API are there when you want to build something no one else has.

Security & compliance

6 questions
Is my data secure with DataDoe?

Yes — and we can prove it. DataDoe has passed Amazon's full security audit and is one of the few platforms with access to Amazon's Personally Identifiable Information (PII). See Security for the full overview.

Is DataDoe approved by Amazon?

Yes. Amazon-audited security with verified PII access. We're authorized for Amazon's restricted Personally Identifiable Information process — the audit most platforms fail.

Who owns my data?

You do. DataDoe holds your data on your behalf to provide the service. You can export at any time and revoke access in one click.

Can I revoke DataDoe's access at any time?

Yes. One click in DataDoe settings or directly in Amazon Seller Central. Access stops immediately.

How does DataDoe handle PII (customer data)?

Per Amazon's required policy. PII is treated under Amazon's restricted data process — access is logged, controlled, and purged on Amazon's required schedule.

Is there an audit trail?

Yes. Every request, every user action, every export is logged. See Security for details on access controls and audit logs.
